With this programme, you'll get a set of 10 pre-recorded classes to get your KS2 pupils engineering and take them through different areas of engineering with new practical challenges every week.
We design and build games linking to machines and mechanisms, including pinball machines, ski lift games and wobblebots with motors.
"The introductions made things very straightforward for the children. The pupils were desperate to get their hands on the activities."
Everything from planning to delivery is done for you, so all you have to do is get hold of a few simple resources each week and then facilitate the activities using the guidance provided, whether that's in an after-school club or during class time. Each video tell you where to pause to do the activities yourselves.
The Academy can work flexibly for your school. There are suggestions for extra activities if you have more time available or ways to make each week's activities fit into a shorter session. Additionally, the 10 sessions can be extended over more weeks or you could miss some weeks if you needed to.
For £199* you can use the club with as many groups as you like for a whole school term on your own schedule and can charge pupils to cover costs or raise additional funds for your D&T or Science budget!
Please be aware that for this club you will additionally need to source some simple materials in advance such as craft sticks, straws, paper cups and tapes. We estimate the total materials costs for running this whole term of clubs with one group of 15 pupils would be around £50.

This programme leads on from our Engineer Academy: Ride Building to continue your pupils' learning journey into all things engineering. Completing the previous two club programmes first is not essential as we introduce the concepts each time, but we'd recommend that as a club leader you'll find it easier to do Strong Foundations first and then Ride Building.
